Holy Communion

Communion is served each Sunday. All are invited to the Lord’s table. The elements are distributed at the front of the sanctuary, but can be brought to the pew for anyone that wishes to remain seated. Children will receive a blessing unless a parent indicates that they shall receive the elements. At St. James, baptized children begin to commune on a regular basis at a time determined through mutual conversation with the pastor, child, parents and/or sponsors.

Worship Assistants

Lay members of the congregation assist with worship in a variety of ways including Assisting Minister, Lector, Usher, Communion Assistant and Greeter.

Music

The first worship service features a choir and bell choir on a rotating basis.

The second worship service features piano music.

Children’s Leadership

Children are involved in worship by bringing forward the communion elements and by providing the sending at the close of worship.

Youth Leadership

Youth are involved in worship by serving as Acolytes, Cross Bearers, and even Lectors and Communion Assistants.
