Worship at St. James Lutheran

Everyone is welcome in worship at St. James Lutheran Church.

St. James is a member congregation of the ELCA that has both traditional and contemporary worship on Sunday mornings.

Holy Communion

Communion is served each Sunday. All are invited to the Lord’s table. The elements are distributed at the front of the sanctuary, but can be brought to the pew for anyone that wishes to remain seated. Children will receive a blessing unless a parent indicates that they shall receive the elements. At St. James, baptized children begin to commune on a regular basis at a time determined through mutual conversation with the pastor, child, parents and/or sponsors.

Children Are Welcome

Children are welcome in worship at St. James. Children learn and grow in God’s love by experiencing worship as a valued member of the faith community. There is a special area in the back of the sanctuary for children that become restless. Rocking chairs are also located in the sanctuary for parents that would prefer to rock their child during worship. A nursery is also available for children under the age of five.

Hospitality

Following each worship service, all are invited for coffee, treats and fellowship in the commons. St. James is handicap accessible with an elevator to provide access to downstairs including Wold Hall and additional classrooms.
